The Physical Education program is intended to educate students about the need to develop active lifestyles. As students participate in PE (soccer, gymnastics, basketball, the Presidential Physical Fitness Challenge, volleyball, jump rope skills, creative games, etc.) they gain strength, flexibility and eye/hand coordination. Their circulatory and immune systems function better as a result of appropriate physical activity, and their self-image is enhanced as they attempt and succeed in new activities.
Sports are an important part of the extra-curricular offerings at CCS. By joining a team, students learn the importance of discipline, teamwork, leadership and determination. They also enjoy the spirit of friendly competition and school spirit! CCS participates in the following extra-curricular sports through the Clayton League: soccer (coed - K, boys/girls teams, 1st - 6th); baskeball (boys/girls teams, 1st - 6th); and baseball or softball (coed tee ball - K, boys/girls teams, 1st - 6th). Practices are held once weekly, and games are played on Saturdays.
