Parents are an integral part of the CCS community. Parents join with educators to shape the direction of the school by serving on the School Board and other school committees. Parents also provide hands-on support in the classroom through regular programs for parent participation in reading, special projects, field trips and other activities. Room parents plan parties and other special events for each class. After-school sports teams are coached by parent volunteers. Parents and grandparents are encouraged to join the school for weekly chapel. CCS also has an active parent organization, Partners In Education (known as P.I.E.) that supports the CCS students and staff in various ways. P.I.E. ministers to families with community-building events, serves teacher meals on conference nights, holds fundraisers to provide "extras" for the school, sponsors receptions, organizes the year-end school picnic ... filling in wherever a need exists.
CCS
also has several annual traditions to bring
our families and
students together outside the classroom. A summer get-together for parents and students kicks off the school year. In the fall CCS students
share the school with their families through Grandparents Day with
a visit to the school, performances and other special
activities. A fall festival event brings our community together once again for food, entertainment and fun.
CCS also hosts an annual dinner/auction and golf tournament as fundraisers.
