Central
Christian School began in 1957 as a school designed to provide a Christian
environment for young children before they entered primary school. The school extended to higher grades over the years at the request of parents who saw the value in the education their children were receiving. The current
program, preschool through Sixth Grade, has been established since
the 1960s. The school building was constructed in the 1970s to house a
growing student body. CCS continues to operate as a ministry of Central
Presbyterian Church, E.P.C., with more than 235 students age 3 through Sixth Grade.
CCS is led by a 13 member Board of Directors
that reports to the Session of Central
Presbyterian Church. The Board consists of members elected
by parents, Elders and others appointed
by Central Presbyterian Church. The Board
is structured into six committees, with
a School Board member as Chair. Interested
parents and teachers also serve on these
committees as approptiate. The committees are: Education,
Finance, Admissions, Development, Facilities
and Spiritual Development.
